Shrimp and Grits is one of the standard menu items for most quality restaurants in the Southeastern Part of the United States. I often rank restaurants based on how good their shrimp and grits dish is. After years of sampling this item in restaurants from Charleston, SC, all the way around to New Orleans, LA, my wife and I have declared that the best Shrimp and Grits to be had is located in Opelika, AL, from the kitchen of Executive Chef Eron Bass of Cafe 123. His grits are extremely creamy and the shrimp are always perfectly cooked. In most other restaurants, the shrimp are over cooked. It is worth the effort to get to Cafe 123 just for this dish.
